The Ghanaian Students in Korea and Associates (GHASKA) is the umbrella body for all Ghanaian students and academics in the Republic of Korea. It is also an active member of the Global Union of Ghanaian Scholars (GUGS). In 2015, a group of visionary Ghanaian students thought it prudent to mobilize their compatriots to champion common agendas for self development and nation building. The unflinching support and contributions of Mr. Kojo Peprah, the then Consular Officer, and other officers of the Ghana Embassy in Seoul, are part of the reasons we can now boast of a formidable student organization. We are a NON-POLITICAL, NON-RELIGIOUS and SOCIO-CULTURAL group that seeks the academic, social, and general welfare of our members with the support of the Ghana Embassy in Korea, alumni, and partners. GHASKA has regional chapters in all regions of South Korea.
Our Motto is “UNITED FOR DEVELOPMENT”, and depicts our logo, which is a typical representation of the Ghana flag but demonstrates synergistic collaborations among students and scholars towards fast-tracked personal and national development and symbolizes Unity. Our Members include:
- All Ghanaian students in Korea who are interested in the activities of GHASKA and have registered with the association.
- Associate members shall consist of:
- GHASKA alumni who reside in Korea or any other country and
- Non-student Ghanaians who are living in Korea, interested in the activities of GHASKA, and have registered with the association.
Our Mission
To provide the platform for intellectual discourses on pertinent issues of national interest, meaningful experiences, and networking towards capacity building and national development devoid of political crinkum-crankum.

To champion the course of and promote a sense of belongingness, networking, and advocacy for national development among members.

- RESOLVED to socially provide a united front for advocacy on development, protection, and welfare issues.
- ORIENTED to establish strong bonds and liaise with the government and institutions in Korea for developmental activities and programs in Ghana.
Our Objectives include:
- To strengthen unity and patriotism among our members, promoting and preserving the sovereignty and integrity of Ghana.
- To foster cooperation among members irrespective of their differences and share ideas intellectually.
- To socially provide a united front for advocacy on issues of development, protection and welfare.
- To establish strong bonds and liaise with the government and institutions in Korea for developmental activities and programs in Ghana.
